New Name, New Identity
Formerly Known as Family Christian Center (FCC), Generations Church NY (GCNY) merged with another ministry, Bridge Church in Mt Vernon, NY in April 2021. Before this took place, they needed to build a new identity that fit the change in name and mission. Our brand development specialist, Sihle Anderson, met with church leaders to discuss the message they wanted to convey & what visual elements would help them stand out. Soon thereafter, a brand kit was created for the church along with references for how the new logo and branding materials could be used.
As shown above, with one example (the exterior sign), these references became exact guidelines for print and manufacturing entities with the church’s branding! The consistency between the branding kit and all of GCNY’s digital and print media helped the church quickly shift from it’s old visual identity into it’s new era. Though it may have felt as if the church was “starting over”, having a strong visual identity straight out the gate contributed to the church having it’s largest attendance ever, both in-house and online.
We first approached Generations Church NY in March 2023 about managing their website in order to help them better maintain their calendar of events & provide accurate information as to the life and functions of the church. Upon further review, we determined that the website would need a complete overhaul in order to improve their CTAs and make their interface more user-friendly (and visitor-friendly).
We redid the entire homepage and collaborated with the church leaders to create a hero section that displayed the life of the church and let the visuals tell the story of what it’s like to be at GC. The designated CTAs displayed what new website visitors would most likely be looking for, while the rest of the site was geared towards information useful to new visitors and current members alike.
We took a step further to ensure that the church website was accurately displayed on third-party platforms, which helped drive traffic to the website and, ultimately, to both physical and online Sunday services! Today, we provide GCNY not only with website management, but also mobile app & content management among other digital services. View the results yourself on genchurchny.com
In discussing systems and structures with the leaders at Generations Church, our team pinpointed a few areas of improvement for their guest experience. While being subscribed to SMS and email marketing platforms, as well as various church management systems, they were still using physical connect cards, paper signup & registration forms to collect information and manually enter them into these platforms. This resulted in an average of 500 excess labor hours and roughly $3,000 in print media every year.
We worked quickly to develop an ecosystem where all information and forms are easily accessible with digital connect cards, online signup/registration forms, and physical/digital kiosks. We also worked to use automations and integrations so the digital connect card fed information to all the necessary platforms. This was a permanent project which cost the church less than a quarter of their annual $3,000 print media spend, and eliminated the need for volunteers and staff to manually re-enter and secure vital and sensitive information.
As GCNY continues to grow in numbers and visitation, they can rest knowing these systems are scalable and well-maintained by the Ignitd Team. Now they can focus on the most important part of the guest experience: building firm, foundational relationships.
